WATER REDUCING AND SET RETARDING ADMIXTURE

Advantages:
  • Optimizes cement utilization
  • Improves the water impermeability characteristics of concrete mix
  • Improves the workability of concrete mix
  • Improves the early and ultimate compressive strengths
  • Minimizes segregation and bleeding problems by improving the cohesion of concrete mixes
Description:

Flocrete P17 is normal range water reducing and set retarding admixture. Flocrete P17 specially formulated to enable the water content of the concrete to perform more effectively and improve the setting and finishing characteristics of concrete mixes.

Usage

  • Production of high quality concrete of improved durability and lower permeability
  • Hot weather concreting
  • Applications where slump retention performance is required
  • Architectural concrete applications

Materials Supplied

Flocrete P17 is available in 5 gal (19 litre) containers as well as 275 gal (1,041 litre) and 330 gal (1,249 litre) IBC totes. Bulk supply in tanker trucks is also available upon request.

Shelf Life

Flocrete P17 has a shelf life of 12 months from date of manufacturing if stored at temperatures between 35 ˚F and 122˚F (2°C and 50°C).

Application Instructions

Flocrete P17 should be added to the concrete with the mixing water to achieve optimum performance.

An automatic dispenser should be used to dispense the correct quantity of Flocrete P17 to the concrete mix.

DOSAGE

The guidance dosage of Flocrete P17 is 4 to 10 fl oz/100 Ib (260 - 650 ml/100 kg) of cement or cementitious materials in the mix including GGBFS, PFA or micro-silica.

Representative trials should be first conducted to determine the optimum dosage of Flocrete P17 to meet the performance requirements by using the materials and conditions in actual use.

EFFECTS OF OVER DOSAGE

Overdosage of Flocrete P17 will cause the following:

  • - Significant increase in retardation.
  • - Increase in workability.
Ultimate concrete strength will not be adversely affected and will generally be increased provided that proper concrete curing is maintained.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Consult the appropriate Material Safety Data sheet prior to using Flocrete P17.
